Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has obtained exclusive media rights for the 23rd Commonwealth Games, reinforcing its dedication to providing world-class sports events to viewers throughout the region.
The iconic quadrennial event will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026, with live coverage on Sony Sports Network stations and streaming on SonyLIV across the Indian subcontinent.
India enters the Games with unprecedented momentum. India performed admirably at the previous edition in Birmingham in 2022, winning 61 medals, 22 of which were gold, and finishing fourth overall. The performance was a watershed moment in the country’s evolution as a Commonwealth athletic superpower. With a new generation of champions developing alongside seasoned veterans, expectations are stronger than ever for another record-breaking season this year.
The Commonwealth Games open a new chapter with a compact, athlete-focused structure that brings together participants from all across the Commonwealth in 10 sports, as well as a record-breaking integrated para-sport programme that includes 47 medal events spread across six sports. Athletics, swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bowling, and 3×3 basketball are all part of the sports programme.
