Sam P: It’s been an excellent and unusually single-minded window for Spurs, accomplishing what would normally take us 2 years in one summer, but the slight gripe would be the loss of Danso, which has forced us into reaching for a yellow-sticker transfer like Tosin (maybe good, maybe not, but cheap enough not to matter). The Ndiaye —> Mudryk switch is unfortunate, but at least they have multiple options.
Lukas T: I think Spurs’ window is pretty good. Considering our recent league finishes, we got some quality players in, even though some arguably aren’t from the absolute highest shelf.
The losses of Spence and Danso are tough, especially looking at the defensive displays in our first two games.
For deadline day, I have no issues with Tosin as a backup CB, but the whole Ndiaye/Mudryk situation felt like Spurs didn’t have a scouting department and were just looking for whoever was available. And when that failed, they asked De Zerbi which winger’s number he still has on his phone.
But after thinking about it, I think the Mudryk loan, albeit still kinda crazy considering he hasn’t played football for a while, is a good thing for the development of Moore and LWB (Luca Williams-Barnett).
